Jonathan Gilbert is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, transcriptionist, arranger, conductor, and educator from New York. Mr. Gilbert is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and is he currently at NYU for his Masters.
To date, Mr. Gilbert has composed over 200 works, including six symphonies and five concertos. His catalog spans solo, chamber, and symphonic repertoire. He is a frequent concert programmer and producer of his own concerts through out NYC. In most recently events, Gilbert holds the position of assistant conductor and administrator for The Association of Classical Musicians and Artist & ACMA Orchestra. In an energetic performance at Carnegie Hall in 2024 with The Association of Classical Musicians and Artist, Mr. Gilbert made his debut in the concert hall. Premiering an original composition that incorporates the alto saxophone and piano at the same time. Gilbert’s pursuit of technical innovation and expressive range notably incorporates classical improvisation as a central element of his performance practice.
